At Home in the Desert, Rosalie Osborn Knaack
Home is where the heart is, they say. While I live in the lush greenery of Korea, my family lives in arid places. South Texas and the Sonoran Desert are dry and austere, which accentuates the stark beauty of the desert. The photos, cyanotypes, and ceramics in this exhibition express my affection for my family. We often go for walks or hikes together, and the images in this exhibition come from that time spent together.

Rosalie Osborn Knaack is a ceramic and mixed media artist from San Antonio, Texas who has lived in Korea for more than 16 years. Rosalie studied Formative Design of Ceramics at Kongju National University and has studied Korean painting, metal working, and woodworking at various institutions in Daejeon. Rosalie teaches English and Art History at Joongbu University and ceramics at her home studio.

사막에 집처럼, 로잘리 오스본 크낙 (Rosalie Osborn Knaack)

집은 마음이 있는 곳입니다. 나는 한국의 푸르른 녹지에 살고 있지만 우리 가족은 건조한 곳에 살고 있습니다. 남부 텍사스와 소노란 사막은 건조하고 엄격하여 사막의 극명한 아름다움을 강조합니다. 이번 전시에 사진, 시아노타입, 도자기는 가족에 대한 애정을 표현합니다. 우리는 함께 산책이나 등산을 자주 가는데, 이번 전시의 이미지들은 함께 보낸 시간에서 나온 것입니다.

로잘리 오스본 크낙 (Rosalie Osborn Knaack)은 세라믹 및 혼합 미디어 작가입니다. 그녀는 미국 텍사스 출신으로 한국에서 16년 넘게 살고 있습니다. 로잘리는 공주대학교에서 도예 조형 디자인을 전공했으며 대전의 여러 기관에서 한국화, 금속공예, 목공을 공부했습니다. 현재 중부대학교에서 영어와 미술사를 가르치고 홈 스튜디오에서 도예 공방을 운영합니다.

This exhibition will be held September 2 – September 26 at 작은창큰풍경갤러리. The exhibition opening reception will be on Saturday, September 9 2pm-5pm. 전시는 9월 2일부터 9월 26일까지 작은창큰풍경갤러리에서 열립니다. 전시 오프닝 리셉션은 9월 9일 토요일 오후 2시부터 5시까지 진행됩니다.

event note: The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm. The gallery is closed for lunch 12pm – 1pm. If the gallery door is locked, ring the bell. The gallery is on the fourth floor. Rosalie will be at the gallery each Friday and Saturday, 1pm-5pm.
