Artist Statement

As an expat living in Korea for over 20 years I have felt increasingly like a foreigner in the United States. The photographs in The States Exhibit were taken during trips back to the United States over the last 3 years; the photos of Seattle, Denver, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles were a way to understand this out-of-place feeling I have had when traveling ‘home’.
