The Daejeon Arts Collective held their City Hall exhibition opening of “Beyond the Fields We Know” on the afternoon of Saturday, April 11th, 2015. Members of the Collective were able to share and discuss their works over refreshments with the public as well as friends and colleagues. With seventeen artists showing their work in the City Hall gallery, this past week’s exhibition was the biggest yet for the group. New as well as established members of the group shared their art with the Daejeon public, ranging from drawings to photography to ceramics. The title, “Beyond the Fields We Know,” referenced not only the diversity of the exhibited artwork and artists themselves, but also the ways the art allows viewers to experience the world beyond the mundane quotidian.The artists were happy to see the variety of audiences that the exhibition brought in due to the accessibility of the venue itself as well as the growing numbers of the Collective.
