Whazzit

Whazzit is a Canadian artist who works in ansi, a form of textmode pixel art that uses extended asci characters to draw digital pictures. He began drawing in 1994 when he joined the art group Mistigris, with whom he is still affiliated today. He has also been a member of the ansi art groups Integrity and Acid. Today, he is interested primarily in bringing ansi to a wider audience outside its digital confines, and in expanding the scope of ansi’s subject matter and application. In addition to working with DJAC, Whazzit currently releases with the international group Blocktronics.
